Phantom Blade Zero has two main endings — the true ending and the normal ending — plus the Platinum that comes from finishing every other achievement. Only the true ending can be permanently missed, and it depends on side quests you must clear before the final boss.
Phantom Blade Zero has two main endings — the true ending and the normal ending — plus the Platinum that comes from finishing every other achievement. Only the true ending can be permanently missed, and it depends on side quests you must clear before the final boss.
The true ending is the only one you can lose. It requires every side quest marked with a purple icon in your journal — starting from the moment you arrive at the Illusory Domain. Miss one of those quests and the true ending is gone for the rest of the run; your only recovery is an earlier save.
The normal ending plays automatically once you reach it. There is nothing to miss — it triggers whether or not you cleared the purple-icon quests, so it is the safe fallback if a true-ending quest slipped past you.
The Platinum — officially “Defy Destiny”, and called “Defy Fate” by several trophy guides — unlocks when every other achievement is done. It is the capstone of the list, not a separate path: finish the 65 others and it lands on its own.
