At Broken Puppet Valley, inspect the shrine beneath the fallen tree northeast of the bell. Read the glowing Calamity case file. The Tale should appear in the journal.
First evidence route
Look for Chaos on a table inside the nearby stilt house reached by stairs. Find Confusion in a house on the western side of the yard below Outpost Courtyard. Near Valley Sha-Chi Tower Base, inspect the map for further evidence markers northwest and south of the bell. Mind’s Eye helps reveal the pages.
How Peng Meng connects
Peng Meng is the eldest brother. Find him by the river southwest of the Outpost, beyond the stele pavilion. Defeating him awards the Dread Axe. Use the linked boss page for the fight; collecting evidence and defeating the boss are separate objectives to check in your journal.
